"My name is Yuwei Huang

and I'm a pipe maker based in Taiwan."

Origin

I'm Yuwei Huang, a pipe maker from Taiwan.
In 2015, an accidental opportunity ,I tried to make a pipe for myself by using briar.  Little did I know that this would open up the realm of endless region to create the perfect pipe.

Handcrafting is a feeling of calm and fulfillment, as well as a practice, and I fall in love with the craft of pipe making.  But it wasn't enough for me and I had the urge to learn more.  So, I went to Chicago International Pipe Shows for several years in a row to see the best and greatest work, and to learn from the best pipe makers of all time so that I could continue to make better pipes than ever before.

This was the beginning of my journey as a pipe maker.

Persistence In Art

My pipe design is deeply influenced by Danish style.  Also inspired by the works of pipe masters such as Bo Nordh, Jess Chonowitsch, Lars Ivarsson, etc., I prefer classic shapes with a modern twist.

While I strive for the finest aesthetics, when crafting carved pipes I always focus on rigorous engineering and drilling execution to ensure a superior smoking experience.

I use only the finest materials in the world, including the finest graded Italian and Algerian briar.
The pipes I made all come with hand-cut and milled mouthpieces made of German hard rubber.
I also use other natural materials for extensions and decorations such as bamboo, horn, exotic woods and stabilized mammoth tusks and molars.

Pipe making is an exciting process.  I am always pursuing a balance between each element of the pipe, a perfect composition as it defines the overall look of the pipe.

Each pipe is unique and individually handcrafted in my studio.
